The Need to Know on Brazilians

What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is an all natural approach to hair removal. Seriously, all natural: sugar, water, lemon, so good for your skin, especially your intimate areas. I apply the sugar in a method called hand-molding, which allows me to penetrate every hair follicle, sugar only picks up your hair + dead skin. The sugar is applied in the opposite direction of your hair growth and removed with your hair growth in a "flicking" motion. The result: less trauma to your skin, less ingrown hairs, improvement for those who experience frequent ingrown hairs from waxing, smooth + soft skin.

How long does my hair have to be for a Brazilian?
Your hair should be as long as a grain of rice, enough to pinch, I will trim if necessary. I know, I know, it can be difficult for some to commit to that length, but just stay focused on the longterm outcome: an improvement in hair texture + less hair.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
For best results, exfoliation is recommended 24-48 hours before your appointment. Don't worry if you are unable to shower before your service, personal cleansing wipes will be available. Some clients like to take Advil or Tylenol before their appointment time. I will guide you through your service + make sure you are most comfortable.

Aftercare + Maintenance
Book your next appointment within 4-5 weeks. If your hair grows quickly, 3 weeks. No sex or gym for the first 24 hours after your service. I recommend wearing loose fitting bottoms immediately after your service. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week will prevent ingrown hairs. Natural aftercare products are available at Kuahine + Co.

How quickly will I see results?
The goal of your first appointment is to break down your hairs strength and ultimately get all your hair on the same growth cycle. Every body, every hair is different, so results may vary. With consistent appointments expect to see a change in hair’s texture + less hair growth.

I just started my period, can I still come in for my appointment?
During + right before your period can be a more sensitive time. Your service may be more painful so just prepare accordingly. If you are on your period, please wear a tampon + let me know. I am comfortable with providing the service as long as you are comfortable.
